About Me
My name is Jana Duncan, and I was a special education teacher in both a self-contained school and a self-contained class in Ontario for 19 years, working primarily with students with autism and developmental disabilities. I am currently learning the role of special education resource teacher. I have worked with people with special needs in a volunteer or employment capacity since 1999. I completed my PhD in Human Studies in 2016 with my dissertation on The Impact of Summer Break of Students with Severe Autism and Their Parents. I sat on the Board of Directors for the Sudbury and District Brain Injury Association as secretary for two years from 2012-2014. I had my son in 2014, and I live with my husband, our son, and our dog Musky in Northern Ontario.
